Mental health and Mental illness are completely different concepts which people almost get confused about their effects. Suffering from depression, stress, pressure etc might affect your Mental health. It might get improved with the help of stress management skills, discussion, counselling and a proper healthy diet.
On the other hand, mental illness might lead to disorders that include diseases like bipolar disorders, Schizophrenia, etc. diseases. Although it initially starts with depression, anxiety and stress slowly, it leads to unmanageable mental illness.
Mental health may be taken care of with the help of the following steps:
- Self wellbeing: Are you too much worried about accomplishing things that you want to earn? It might be common to have desires, but if we too much into completing our goals, this might affect our mental health. Self well being is good if it is balanced. It is needed to be aware of emotions and take care of the mental health as well.
- Mindfulness: It is a state of mind to stay present, not thinking of the future or past. We need to be aware of our personal hygiene, personal space, healthy mind, and physical health. It will reduce stress and protect against anxiety.
- Gratitude and Gratefulness: Being grateful and showing gratitude for things that we already have induced positive emotions. It is needed for helping your mental health.
- Workout: Physical activity helps in lowering down stress and anxiety because it reduces levels of stress hormones like adrenaline and cortisol. It relieves tension, anger and may also treat depression.
If mental health is not treated at the right time, it might lead to mental illness, so it is needed to identify the issues and stay aware of ourselves in terms of diet, company, work, emotions, physical health, and mental health. Don’t you think we all deserve happiness?
